Is there really "Freedom of Speech" ???

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Is there really "Freedom of Speech" ???

Hi,

I am doing a school report on The First Amendment. As I understand, congress "Shall make NO LAW, abridging the freedom of speech". IF this is true, how do we have laws in place today that don't allow us to use profane language while broadcasting? Does someone else have the authority to make federal laws other than our congress and senate?

Thanks

I for one disagree with the following Supreme Court Case Decision:

What the Supreme Court is saying is that your rights can be infringed upon if its in the interest of government to do so!
